Normal.
What does that word even mean?
It seems like everyone has a different definition of normal, and yet we all strive to be it. We dress like it, we talk like it, we act like it. But is normal really what we want to be?Sometimes I pretend to be normal. I put on a mask and blend in with the crowd. I say the things that are expected of me, even if I don't believe them. I do the things that are considered normal, even if I don't enjoy them.
But it's exhausting. After a while, I have to take off the mask and go back to being me. I need to be my authentic self, even if that means being different, crazy.
I'm not sure what normal really is, but I know that it's not for me.
It may be challenging. It may be scary. It may be risky.
But is it worth the cost?
Because being me is the most natural thing I can do. Because being me is the most honest thing I can do. Because being me is the most beautiful thing I can do.
And because being me makes me happy.
And because being me makes me happy.
What about you?
Do you sometimes pretend to be normal? And if so, how does it make you feel? Do you think you are missing out on something by not being yourself? Do you think you are gaining something by being yourself? And most importantly, do you think you are ready to go back to being you?
