Is what we think we become?
Is our thoughts and beliefs have a direct impact on our reality. When we believe in ourselves and our ability to achieve our goals, we are more likely to take action and persevere in the face of challenges. Conversely, if we doubt ourselves or our abilities, aren't we more likely to give up before we even start. There is a growing body of research that supports the idea that our thoughts and beliefs can shape our reality
A study by Stanford University researchers found that people who believed they were lucky were more likely to experience positive events in their lives. Another study by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found that people who believed they could control their own destiny were more likely to succeed in school and in their careers.Believing in ourselves and our ability to achieve our goals is not always easy? We may have negative thoughts and beliefs that hold us back. Despite that these thoughts and beliefs are not always accurate. They are just thoughts, and how can we choose to challenge them?
One way to challenge negative thoughts and beliefs
To ask ourselves "Is this thought really true?" or "What evidence do I have to support this belief?" Once we start to question our thoughts, we may realize that they are not as accurate as we thought they were.
To focus on our strengths and abilities. What are we good at? What have we accomplished in the past?
When we focus on our strengths, we may be able to start to believe in ourselves more. We are essentially acknowledging our abilities and capabilities. We are telling ourselves that we are good at something, and that gives us a sense of confidence. We know confidence is important because it allows us to take risks, try new things, we may achieve our goals.
Finally, everyone experiences setbacks and failures. These are just part of the journey. The important thing is to pick ourselves up and keep going. If we keep believing in ourselves, will we eventually achieve our goals?
Next time you have a negative thought or belief, challenge it. Ask yourself if it is really true. Focus on your strengths and abilities. And keep believing in yourself, even when things get tough. You can achieve anything you set your mind to.
